Overview
Mixed-methods user researcher with 7+ years studying how people make decisions inside complex, evolving systems — first biological, then social, now AI-native. At Cleo I build the research tooling I want to use: an internal skill catalog with an evidence-driven feedback loop, a Slack helper running local AI against every internal data source, and instrumentation for AI-assisted workflows across the company. Quantitative rigour (clustering, conjoint, LCA; R / Python / SQL) paired with deep qualitative methods, and a working obsession with the feedback loops that make systems improve themselves.
Selected projects — AI-native research tooling
- Cleo Smart Skills (May 2026) — Internal skill catalog with evidence-driven feedback loop. Two MCPs, project hooks across Claude Code and Cursor, threading + clustering backend, curator UI for prioritising what to build next based on real prompts the catalog can't answer. Shipped in 3 days at Cleo's Tokenmaxxing Hackathon; hand-written code under 100 lines, rest authored by Claude Code (Opus 4.7) and Cursor Composer (Sonnet 4.6).
- Cleo internal AI Slack helper — Local-AI Slack app with MCP connections to internal data sources. Answers colleague queries from authoritative internal context, surfaces results to a backend that captures usage and feedback, and is configured for company-specific domain through tools, MCPs and skills under continuous iteration.
- Inscryption agent (in progress) — Personal project: an agent that plays the deckbuilder Inscryption. Exploring agent design, decision policies, and self-improvement through play traces.
- Intersectional decision-support tool (concept) — Early scoping: research-backed tool providing situated guidance based on user context, drawing on social-anthropological framing of how identity, environment and incentive structures shape decisions.
Work experience
Cleo AI — London
Senior User Researcher, August 2025 – Present
- Built Cleo Smart Skills — an internal skill catalog with two MCP servers, project hooks across Claude Code and Cursor, threading + clustering backend, and a curator queue that turns raw AI usage into prioritised skill investments backed by real evidence.
- Shipped an internal AI Slack helper running local models with MCP connections to all internal data sources.
- Led pricing strategy research for the US market using choice-based conjoint and Gabor-Granger methodologies, managing a team of researchers.
- Developed a company-wide user segmentation model using clustering and Latent Class Analysis, now adopted operationally across product, marketing, data science, and commercial teams.
- Owneduser and market research for Cleo's Series D fundraise, synthesising evidence into narrative used in investor materials.
- Delivered UK market entry research informing go-to-market positioning, product localisation, and the prioritisation of subsequent international expansion.
- Designed and shipped new in-app survey and research capabilities, increasing research throughput and signal quality across product surfaces.
- Implemented a standardised quantitative research workflow on Qualtrics, reducing project turnaround from 3 weeks to 1 week.
- Completed 15+ studies in 6 months with sample sizes up to 20,000 respondents, working cross-functionally with data science, product analytics, product, marketing, and commercial.

Note on document structure: hierarchy and signal density have been deliberately optimised for both AI parsing and human skim-reading. Happy to discuss the choices.
